Ducks

Here's me feeding the ducks near the library today. Shrishti came with me, and it was so much fun that we are probably going again tomorrow.

Comments

It looks like I can't get comments to show up directly on the page, but clicking on the comments link now brings up a nice, cleaner pop-up box.

Snow!

This morning was very sunny but heavy snow rolled in about an hour ago. The pic doesn't show you how heavy it really is. Sweeet! (But now I'm not driving anywhere for a while-probably good for me so I can do some things around here like clean the dirty bathroom). The pretty tulip there is a $3 sale I bought at King Soopers when the buds were still closed. They are turning out to be a pretty pink. In the middle is lemon thyme and the left one is basil that is going to die soon because it needs a lot of sun and I don't get that because my room faces the west. It's a good trade off though, cause I get to see mountains!

Plants!!

I've got new plants and some flowers. I love the smell of dirt when I water them. To enlarge a picture, right click and select open link in new window.

Sunrise Bread

Today I made Sunrise Bread. The main ingredient is sweet potatoes and you can keep the skin on if you want. Talk about healthy! The special substitutions are soy milk, a serious reduction in oil (only 2/3 cup), and using egg whites in place of eggs. You don't whip the eggs, you just dump them in. Egg yokes have a lot of fat in them which is hard on the system, so just egg whites work the same and are better.

Butternut Squash Sauce

I cooked my first thing in a long time today! I'm so excited that I got the camera out of the closet (my college attic) and took a picture. First I made applesauce and then Butternut Squash Spaghetti Sauce. The squash is steamed. The special substitution is soy milk.
